Privacy Policy

for Screen Actions

This Privacy Policy explains how Screen Actions (“the App”) handles information. The App is published by Screen Actions (“we”, “us”).

Summary

We do not collect personal data in the App and we do not run any servers.
Processing happens on your device. Data you create (events, reminders, contacts, files) stays within your device and Apple services you choose (e.g., iCloud).
We do not include third-party analytics SDKs and we do not show ads.
Purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store; we don’t receive your card details.
Crash diagnostics may be shared by Apple if you opt in at the OS level; these are anonymised.

What the App does on your device

Text recognition & detection. When you scan a photo/screenshot or select text, detection is performed on-device using Apple frameworks (e.g., Vision and Data Detectors). No data is sent to our servers (we have none).
Calendars & Reminders. If you choose to create an event or reminder, the App writes it to your Calendar/Reminders via system APIs. You can review and edit details before saving.
Contacts. If you extract a contact, the App adds it to your device’s Contacts only when you confirm.
Files & Exports. For Receipt → CSV, the generated CSV lives on your device (e.g., in Files) or wherever you share it.
Safari Web Extension. The extension runs only when you invoke it. It doesn’t read your browsing history or track you. It accesses the current page’s selection for the action you request, and doesn’t send it to us.
Share Extension. Processes the item you share (text, image, etc.) locally to perform your chosen action.
Location (optional). If you enable location-based features (e.g., geofencing an action), location handling is done by iOS. We don’t receive your location.
Notifications. The App may schedule local notifications to help complete actions you requested. We do not use remote push notifications.
App Group. We use an App Group (e.g., group.com.conornolan.screenactions) to share minimal state between the app and its extensions on your device. This does not transmit data to us.

Information we don’t collect

We don’t collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, identifiers for tracking, or the content you process in the App.

Purchases

We offer in-app purchases via StoreKit. Apple processes payment; we receive transaction status/entitlement information only, used to unlock features you’ve bought.

Crash reports & diagnostics

If you enable “Share with App Developers” in iOS, Apple may provide anonymised crash logs so we can improve stability. We cannot identify you from these logs.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. If a parent/guardian contacts us regarding information sent via email, we will delete it.

Your choices

Delete local data: delete the app from your device.
Permissions: change Calendar/Reminders/Contacts/Location/Photos permissions in iOS Settings.
Purchases: you can restore purchases from within the app.
